What is 6KYC? What can be updated online?
6KYC refers to six key KYC attributes: Email, Mobile Number, PIN Code, Income, Nominee, and Bank details. The 6KYC update process allows you to review and update any missing KYC details online in a single step. New change requests are allowed only if all 6KYC attributes are compliant.
How can a client access it?
- Log in to MyGeojit
- Go to My Accounts > Personal Profile
- Scroll down to the KYC info
- ✅ Green tick → Updated
- ❌ Red cross → Pending / Missing
To update any missing details, click the Update button on the right-hand side. You will then be redirected to the 6KYC page.
What can be updated online?
Most KYC details can be updated online, except:
- Pincode (Address): Can be updated through a branch.
- Nominee Details:
- If only the nominee attribute is missing, it can be updated via MyGeojit.
- If multiple attributes (including nominee) are missing, nominee details cannot be updated online and require a branch visit.
Reasons for Missing Attributes
Attributes may appear as missing due to the following reasons:
- Email ID not registered in the trading or Demat account
- Invalid or incorrect PIN code
- Invalid or mismatched IFSC code
- Bank name not provided
- Incomplete or incorrect bank account number
- Nominee is blank in the Trading/DP account
- A nominee is already added, but mandatory details as per regulatory requirements—such as nominee's email ID, mobile number, or ID proof—are not provided
Who cannot update 6KYC online?
The following clients are not eligible for online updates:
- Clients with joint Demat accounts
- Clients with multiple Demat accounts not linked to trading
- Non-resident (NRE/NRO) clients (for email, mobile, and bank updates)
- Non-Geojit DP clients (except for bank modification)
