What is Early Pay-in?

The Pay-in Day is the day on which a broker is required to make the payment (or deliver securities) to the exchange for an executed buy (or sell) transaction. As per the rolling trade settlement cycle followed in India, pay-in and pay-out of funds and securities are carried out within T+1 days.

Early pay-in refers to when you fulfil your funds and/ or securities obligation for an executed trade to the exchange, before the stipulated settlement date for the trade. By providing early pay-in, you can benefit from lower margin requirements for your trades.

Trades executed through Geojit are normally given as early pay-in; shares sold will be marked for early pay-in in your demat account on the trade day (T).
