What is Early Recall of securities by the lender?

An Early Recall refers to when a lender wants to recall lent securities from the borrower, before the stock return date of the given contract.

A lender can exit an open SLBS position by placing a recall order through your broker (Geojit). Here, the lender must quote the lending fee he is willing to forgo for the remaining contract period.

If the order gets executed, settlement of the early recall takes place on T+1. On successful completion of pay-in, the lend position is closed.

Recall orders can be placed up to 3 days before the respective reverse leg settlement day. They can also be placed as partial quantity recall orders.
