Why Is My Portfolio Showing Duplicate Values After a Successful ARN Transfer?

If your portfolio is displaying duplicate mutual fund values even after your ARN transfer has been successfully completed, there are a few common reasons and simple steps you can take to resolve the issue.

Possible Reasons for Duplicate Portfolio Values:

1. External Portfolio Has Not Been Refreshed

After the ARN transfer, the updated folio details may not immediately reflect in your portfolio view. In such cases, the system may continue to show both the old and updated records, resulting in duplicate values.

Solution:

  • Log in to the FundsGenie platform.
  • Use the "Sync External Portfolio" option to refresh and update your holdings.
  • Allow some time for the latest portfolio data to be fetched and displayed accurately.

2. Active SIPs Are Still Linked to the Previous Broker

Even after the ARN code is transferred, any ongoing SIPs registered with the previous broker may continue, resulting in duplicate holdings. This occurs because the RTA maps the entire holdings to the ARN through which the latest transaction was processed.

Solution:

  • Check whether any SIPs for the transferred funds are still active under the previous broker's ARN.
  • Cancel or update those SIP registrations as applicable.
  • Complete the transfer of the associated investments to the Geojit ARN.
  • Refresh your portfolio using the "Sync External Portfolio" feature.

How to Resolve Duplicate Portfolio Display

  • Verify that the ARN transfer has been successfully completed.
  • Click Sync External Portfolio on the FundsGenie platform.
  • Review all active SIPs linked to the transferred mutual fund schemes.
  • Ensure no SIPs remain mapped to the previous broker's ARN; if present, cancel it.
  • Transfer any remaining holdings or SIP allocations to the Geojit ARN.
  • Refresh the portfolio again and verify the updated values.
