What Happens to Orders Placed During Pre-Open and Pre-Close Sessions?
With the revised pre-open and pre-close market timings, investors may wonder what happens to orders placed during these transition periods. The good news is that you can continue placing orders seamlessly without waiting for the next trading session to begin.
Orders Placed Between 9:10 AM and 9:15 AM

Any order placed during the 9:10 AM to 9:15 AM window will be accepted by the system and queued automatically. These orders are then sent to the exchange as soon as the regular trading session begins at 9:15 AM.
This allows investors to place orders without interruption, even during the brief gap between the pre-open session and regular market trading.

Limit Orders: Place, modify, and cancel. Market Orders: No modification/cancellation allowed.
Orders Placed Between 3:15 PM and 3:20 PM for CAS Securities

For securities eligible for the Closing Auction Session (CAS), orders placed between 3:15 PM and 3:20 PM will be collected. These orders will be automatically forwarded to the exchange when the Closing Auction Session starts at 3:20 PM.
This ensures that investors can continue placing orders smoothly without having to wait for the CAS window to begin.
Orders submitted before 3:15 PM cannot be modified or cancelled.
