What is the Inter-settlement charge in my ledger? Why is it charged?

Inter-settlement charges are levied when shares that are under the unsettled status are sold from your account. This occurs when you sell shares before they are credited to your Demat account.

When you buy shares as a delivery trade they are settled in your account on T+1. If you sell them before this, inter-settlement charges will be debited from your trading ledger.

DIS and inter-settlement charges are calculated similarly. Please refer our article on DIS charges.
