Who can invest in SGBs?
Persons residing in India as defined under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) 1999 can invest in SGBs. Eligible investors include:
- Individuals
- HUFs
- Trusts
- Universities
- Charitable Institutions
Individual investors who change their status from Resident to Non-resident can continue to hold SGBs till early redemption/maturity.
