Who is a Foreign Institutional Investor (FII)?
They are essentially big companies (such as investment banks) that invest a considerable amount of money in another country's (Indian) market. FIIs play a major role in the economy by exerting a strong influence on the total inflows coming into the economy, thereby causing the market trend to move upward and vice-versa.
