Why am I not able to make transactions via UPI ?
The National Payments Corporation of India has declared new guidelines for UPI transaction IDs, which state that if a UPI ID contains special characters ( any characters that are not part of the standard 26-letter alphabet or numbers 0-9), like #, @, $, or *, it will be blacklisted. This is effective from February 1st, 2025.
From Feb 1, 2025, if you are using a UPI app that includes special characters in its transaction ID, such transactions will be declined by the central system. It is advised to use only alphanumeric characters for generating UPI transaction IDs.
Hence, while adding funds to our trading platforms or applying for an IPO, your payment might get rejected if your UPI ID contains special characters. While making transactions on our trading platforms, ensure your UPI ID is in the proper format prescribed by NPCI.
