When I tried to sell an F&O contract, the order was blocked, saying 'Market Wide Limit Reached'. But this scrip is not in a ban period. What is the reason for this?

Trading in contracts is activated based on their liquidity. We do not permit orders to be placed for F&O orders that are far and mostly illiquid. As per exchange regulations, we have put pre-risk controls in place for trades to avoid abnormal price movements.

Online clients who wish to trade in such contracts that are due to expire in 90 days can accept the conditions on the pop-up message displayed during order placement.

Offline clients should kindly contact your branch to activate trading in illiquid contracts in your account.
