Can Smartfolios investments lead to a debit balance in my trading account?
In case your orders are executed based on exposure (and without clear funds), debits will be marked in your trading account. Based on trade intimation via email/SMS, you can transfer the required amount before the settlement day (T+1). Not clearing these debits will lead to penalties and squaring-off of positions without further notice.
Please note that since the Depository Participant (Geojit) is the same for Smartfolios and regular trading, normal trade transactions will also have a bearing on the debit balance in your account. Kindly ensure that debits are cleared so that your stocks are not sold as part of the squaring off procedure.
