How to choose Commodity Category?

As per Exchange Circular MCX/TRD/007/2019 issued by SEBI, exchanges are now required to categorize participants in the Commodity Derivatives market across six defined categories:

• Farmer/ FPO
• Value Chain Participant (VCP)
• Proprietary Trader (relevant for Members' OWN account)
• Domestic Financial Institutional Investor
• Foreign Participant
• Others
  

The categorization of the clients/members shall be made based on self-declaration basis for each commodity.

To mark mark the categorization, follow these steps:

Step 1. Login to MyGeojit

Step 2. Select Services & Downloads

Step 3. Choose Client Commodity Categorization

Step 4. You will be redirected to Registration page. Here, you can select the desired category.

Please Note: The categorization can be updated by filling in the "Commodity Categorisation Form" which is available at all our branches.
