What is Portfolio Investment Scheme (PIS)?
PIS is a scheme of the RBI under which NRIs can purchase and sell shares on the Indian stock exchanges through a registered stock broker.
NRIs can invest in PMS schemes on a repatriation and/ or non-repatriation basis, by opening a PIS bank account with one of the following banks with which we have a tie-up:
- Axis Bank
- BBK (Bank of Bahrain & Kuwait)
- Federal Bank
- HDFC Bank
- South Indian Bank
- IDBI
