How can I add a nominee to my trading/demat account?

You can update 1 nominee in your trading account, and up to 3 nominees in your demat account OR you can opt -out of the Nomination

Resident individual and NRI single-holder accounts can add a nominee on MyGeojit
Other account types (joint accounts, etc.) will have to submit a physical Nomination Form at a branch
Non-individual accounts (HUFs, companies, trusts, etc.) cannot have nominees

To add a nominee on MyGeojit:

Step 1. Log in and go to My Account > Profile > Nominee Details.

Step 2. Click on 'Add Nominee.' You can either select nominee from already nominated list or you can add a new nominee.

Step 3. Enter the name and other details and set the percentage allocation.

Step 4. Click on the 'Submit' button.

Step 5. You will receive a pop-up, "Choice of nomination updated successfully."

Step 7. Click on the "Ok" Button.

The nomination will be added to your Trading account immediately, and for a Demat account, it will show "Request waiting for Approval". You will get an email/SMS from Geojit and your respective depository (NSDL/CDSL). If you do not receive any intimation within 2 working days, kindly contact our customer care line.
