Is there a minimum and maximum limit for investing in SGBs?

SGBs are issued in denominations of 1 gram of gold and multiples thereof.

Individuals & HUFs	1 gram	4 Kgs per year
Trusts and similar entities (as notified by the Government from time to time during the financial year)	1 gram	20 Kgs per year

• In the case of joint holding, the limit applies to the first applicant. 
• The annual ceiling includes bonds subscribed under different tranches during the initial issuance by the Government and those purchased from the secondary market.
• The ceiling on investments will not include holdings given as collateral to banks or other financial institutions.
